Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited four (4) year college or university with a bachelor’s degree in an area related to the job specified (Unless the Board of Directors approves otherwise)
- A minimum of two (2) years paid professional experience in a field related to the mission of the agency
Knowledge and Abilities
- Knowledge of methods and techniques involved in training and programming to meet the needs of the agency
- Knowledge of methods and techniques involved in conflict management
- Ability to assign, supervise, manage, and evaluate activities of personnel
- Knowledge of equipment and materials required in the delivery of services
- Knowledge of principles of fiscal management
- Ability to handle any issues and concerns with the public and co-workers, including a functional knowledge of community organizations
- Ability to relate well with other social services agencies
- Ability to exercise good judgement in evaluating situations and making good decisions
- Ability to express clearly, concisely, and convincingly
- Ability to plan and direct the work of others
- Ability to implement agency cohesion and build employee morale
Essential Duties
- To develop and administer plans and programs to meet the specific goals and objectives of the agency as related to the policy statement of the governing agency and to satisfy the requirements of any and all funding resources
- To establish budgetary and fiscal systems necessary to the operations of the agency and to satisfactorily meet the fiscal requirements of the funding agency
- To direct the activities of the employees of the agency and supervise a system that provides efficient personnel management, including employee training and evaluations of the performance of personnel
- To provide effective direction and supervision of all operational activities of the agency
- To be responsible for the operation and the maintenance of the physical plant of the agency
- To Coordinate all phases of the agency’s program to ensure that a high standard of professional conduct and quality of service is provided to each person supported
- To coordinate activities in order to comply with the state standards of care and training for persons supported and employees
- To prepare and submit reports on all aspects of agency activities in a timely manner
- To interpret the agency’s program to the community, coordinate the work of agency with that of other agencies in the community. And to communicate the needs of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities to the public through publications, speeches, presentations, etc.
- To be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and confidentiality of persons supported records
- To approve specific forms cash disbursement sheets, attendance and mileage records, leave request, purchase orders, all bills received by the agency, etc.
- To serve as Privacy official in order with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPPA)
- Apply for Grants and other Subsidies when needed
- Implement conflict management within the agency and provide conflict management training within the agency
- Responsible to communicate the Board of Directors vision and requirements to agency employees
- Responsible to execute and evaluate the Board of Directors requirements and directives
- Responsible to ensure all physical property is used only for the agency’s purpose
- Responsible for holding all employees accountable for their actions
