Residential Coordinator


Qualifications

  • Graduation from an accredited college or university in a field related to the mission of the agency preferred (unless the Board of Directors approves otherwise)
  • Experience equivalent to two (2) years full-time employment in a supervisory position preferred
  • Possession of a valid Tennessee driver’s license

Knowledge and Abilities

  • Knowledge of the principles and practices of supervision and training necessary for staff who work with the developmentally disabled
  • Knowledge of the principles and practices of management
  • Ability to assign, train, supervise, and evaluate staff and their work
  • Ability to communicate clearly and precisely in verbal and written form
  • Ability to be flexible in his/her job position
  • Knowledge of pertinent rules and regulations as set forth by the agency and DIDD
  • General knowledge of checks and balances, budgeting, and financial responsibility

Essential Duties

  • Supervise and enforce policies, programs, and operational procedures
  • Supervise and evaluate residential Direct Support Professionals
  • Generate bi-weekly schedule
  • Supervise and/or follow-up on residential house training for Direct Support Professionals
  • Gather, print and review running record documentation for residential person’s supported
  • Supervise and review coordinated recreational activities by residential Direct Support Professional as directed by the person supported plan of care
  • Review menus developed for the household, if necessary, ensuring they follow any meal/dining plans, diets, and/or diet restrictions, as prescribed for persons supported
  • Conduct monthly house inspections per state required check list
  • Update and revise documentation requirements as required by the state
  • Complete Level of Needs (LON), Risk Assessments, Sleep Pattern Data (SPD), Urine tracking, etc.
  • Transition in new persons supported for supported living (coordination with state officials, families, ISC’s, etc.
  • Ensure proper training for Direct Support Professionals on behavioral plans, meal plans, transfer plans, hygiene plans, action plans, etc.
  • Document and revise on a consistent basis, inventory of each person supported personal items
  • Maintain a positive working relationship with staff in the homes and at the center, as well as with persons supported and their families/guardians
  • Communicate and coordinate with families/guardians of each person supported to schedule vacations and/or visits as requested by persons supported and/or families
  • Assist persons supported with any daily concerns and positive decision making
  • Serve as a role model to all persons supported and staff
  • Review weekly time sheets for residential Direct Support Professionals
  • Actively participate in ISP meeting for persons supported in supported living
  • Openly communicate with residential and center staff, families/guardians, ISCs and/or case managers to address any issues with persons supported that need to be addressed
  • Prepare all required reports for Q & A and submit to state in a timely manner
  • Ensure staff, as well as Residential Coordinator maintain clean and safe work and living environments for persons supported
  • Ensure monthly fire and severe weather drills are conducted in each supported living home and proper documentation is retained
  • Conduct staff meetings monthly with all residential staff
  • Discharge other job-related responsibilities as assigned by the Executive director
  • Assist the Executive Director with agency employees' morale and cohesion
  • Provide a positive presence and assist with conflict management as needed
